Waste screening equipment and its function

Introduction: Waste screening equipment is a mechanical device used for waste sorting and processing. Its main function is to separate the mixed collected  waste according to physical characteristics such as size, shape, and weight for subsequent processing and recycling. The following are several common waste screening equipment and their functions:

Trommel Screen

1. Trommel screen By setting screens of different specifications inside the rotating cylinder, the garbage is screened out during the rolling process. The larger volume of garbage remains above the screen, and the smaller one falls through the screen.

2. Vibrating screen: The excitation force generated by the vibrating motor makes the material jump forward on the screen surface, while completing the classification, dehydration, and mud removal of the material. The vibrating screen can effectively classify the garbage into different grades according to the particle size.

3. Wind Sifter: Based on the principle of aerodynamics, it uses airflow to separate light materials (such as plastic film and paper) from heavy materials (such as glass and metal).

4. Magnetic separator: For garbage containing ferromagnetic substances, these metal substances can be separated from other non-metallic wastes by the action of the magnetic field.

5. Flotation machine: It selectively separates solid waste in liquid medium according to the density difference of objects. It is often used to recycle lightweight metals such as aluminum cans.

6. Crusher: Although it is not a direct screening device, it is used in conjunction with screening equipment in many cases to first break large pieces of garbage into smaller sizes for further classification.

7. Optical sorter/color sorter: It uses optical sensors to identify objects of different colors or materials, and then separates them with air guns or other methods. It is suitable for sorting transparent or translucent objects such as plastic bottles and glass bottles.
